Okay, guilty as charged, there’s a degree of self-absorption here. However we’re by our very nature egotistical creatures, so I’m not the only one.
This site is (rather geekily) dedicated to those emails that all too regularly hit my inbox. Whether film, sports, music or more, like you, I’m bombarded with emails on a daily basis.
GDPR was brought in early in mid-2018 with the desire to reduce the amount of spam we receive in our daily lives. From a data protection point of view, it also enabled you, the customer, to remove yourself from the hundreds of email mailing lists you’ve found yourself added to over the years.
Now, here’s where we may differ… I LOVE receiving emails. Especially good, well thought out, well made ones.
We’ve all had good emails. The flashy ones. The interactive ones. The ones which catch the eye. Whether it’s a subject line, or the content itself. There are emails which always stand out.
So I thought, what are my favourites? Why not shout to the world when I see a good one… Why not point out if I see one which could have been better?
Why not indeed…
Here we go then
Some quick rather important notes:
- The views expressed on this blog are mine, and mine alone. They are not meant as fact, and are purely an opinion.
- Whilst KPIs are obviously important (and I’m always intrigued to know how these campaigns might’ve performed), ultimately what makes a “good” email is subjective and there’s no right or wrong answer.
- If you work in CRM and think I’ve criticised one of your emails unfairly, then I’m intrigued to hear from you. If the point is valid, I’d be happy to either take down the post or potentially post your response.
- I hope you enjoy the site.
